The EMU322 offers all the Functions of the ELM322 Interface but at a lower cost since EMU322 is used in place of ELM322 MCU. A more powerful EMU322 MCU is backward compatible with ELM322, so all the software that runs with the original ELM322 Interfaces also runs with the EMU322.
Firmware, source codes and documentation for this MCU is released under GNU licence so it is freelyavailable and can be optimize and modified it to your needs.
On the pcb is a standard Atmel 6 pin ISP connector for the Mega8 for easy programming over Ponyprogor other AVR ISP software.
Heavy & robust casing for rough service use
Connects to PC via RS232
Working for VPW protocol over Atmel Mega8 MCU
Cable is based on certified RS232 level shifters
Led for Databus which shows the current logic status
Powered from car battery over OBD2 connector
The EMU322 OBDII Interface allows to talk to VPW (10.4KHz J-1850 VPW) standard OBDIIequipped vehicle using an RS232 serial connection. It is typically used in US cars from General Motorsand some from Daimler Chrysler. It transparently converts between a VPW J-1850 data stream andstandard ASCII characters, allowing trouble codes and operating parameters to be easily retrievedwithout the need for special software. No knowledge of data formatting, error checking, bus initiation etc. is needed, as the EMU322 handles all of it for you. The present version of the EMU322provides several programmable features equal to the V2.0 of the ELM322 chip.
