What you need to know before inserting the sim into the phone |
- Check again if 3G is enabled (Settings -> General -> Network -> Enable 3G)
- Check if Data Roaming is enabled (Settings -> General -> Network -> Data Roaming)
- Make the appropriate APN settings (in Setting -> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network)

This is a very safe unlocking method. You do not have to modify your phone's firmware in any way, so you do not loose warranty. You also do not run any external software on your handset so there is absolutely no risk of damaging it.
The SIM can be taken out anytime if you wish to return the phone to it's original state.
UNISIM supports all iPhone 3G versions (currently up to the latest 2.0.2) bought in USA, Germany, Australia, UK, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Italy, Spain, etc

You do not need to jailbreak the phone if you have original provider's SIM card. Activate your iPhone using iTunes and original SIM card. Otherwise you will have to jailbreak and activate your handset prior to using the unlock SIM.

Unlocking steps |
- Jailbreak and activate your iPhone 3G if necessary
- Cut a little hole on the SIM card you are planning to use the iPhone with (as shown on the picture). This will not damage your SIM card. You can use a regular paper whole punch or wire cutter for this purpose.
- Put your SIM card on top of the UNISIM card
- Carefully place both cards into the phone. Do not force the sim card in. You may need to work with it to make sure it fits in
- Your iPhone is now unlocked and can be used on any network
